1. Pernah blajar Medic jap..sebelum tukar bidang coz memenuhi cita2 Abah tersayang yg sgt mengharapkan diri ini mewarisi ilmu dan jejak langkahnya.
2. Sanggup berkorban demi org2 yg disayangi.
3. Tak mudah menangis...suka memendam rasa.
4. Tak romantik...heheh....tapi setia pada yg satu.
5. Sgt mengambil berat pendidikan dan pembesaran anak2.
6. Indecisive...tak pandai buat pilihan dlm urusan hidup..nak pilih baju raya pun susah...biasanya suh mak jer pilihkan cos taste mak I memang bagus.

I received this tag from my 'biras' weeks ago. Unfortunately, I have to leave it undone due to some reasons. So, it's time for me to answer this task.

Now, the real me is being revealed...

1. Retail therapy is the best way for me to de-stress myself. I also love window shopping so much. I can just wandering about and enter every single shop in a shopping mall, without buying anything.

2. I am quite a 'kepoh' neighbour. However, not as much as the desperate housewives. Hehe. Ironically, I don't mingle much with my neighbours. However, I love observing their routines of going to and return from work.

3. I have to admit that I don't like doing house chores, especially 'lipat baju'. Satu penyeksaan!

4. I don't easily 'merajuk' if someone teases or hurts my feeling. I can hide my true feeling and emotion in front of my enemies.....

5. There's only 2 persons that I had ever really fought with and 'berpatah arang'. Tak boleh nak berbaik lagi, whatever happens. One is my former landlord when I was studying abroad, and the other is my ex-roomate during Masters. She is a muallaf, who constantly condemns Islam and criticizes the tenets of Islam. Other than the two, I can easily forgive and forget.

6. I'm not the goal-getter type. Many a times, I sacrifice my own goals for others' sake.

7. Love music. If I weren't be doing what I am doing now, most probably I would be an orchestra conductor.

That's all. The 'inside' me....

Nearest Book Meme.. (and some remarks on polygamy)

I've been tagged by Nadia from US. I think it's quite an interesting tag. Let see how it is done.

Well, since my laptop is currently on my study desk (usually it can be found in the bedroom and in the living too), it's not difficult for me to find a book of more than 123 pages. Just look at the books on my desk that are waiting patiently to be read by me...


Ok. I choose a book written by Dr. Haifaa Jawad, a senior lecturer from University of Birmingham (she supposed to be my supervisor). It is entitled The Rights of Women In Islam: An Authentic Approach.

The fifth sentence is:
" The permission given in the third verse(al-Qur'an, 4:3) is not an outright permission, nor a general license to practice poligamy."

Aha....quite an interesting topic, right? It's about poligamy in Islam.

The next three sentences after this sentence are:

" It was given in a special historical situation brought about by a recent war, on account of which a large number of Muslim women and children had become orphans; there was an emergency, and there was no alternative to solve the problem of the orphans. Polygamy was the only solution therefore it was adopted. But the situation cannot repeat itself, because the Muslims are now a world Ummah".

Actually, the above mentioned opinion is Qamaruddin Khan's interpretation of the issue of polygamy.

Well. I'm not totally agree with the statement. Yes, it is true that polygamy was introduced as one of the solutions to solve the problem. However, it doesn't mean that when there is no war and few orphans, polygamy is not allowed nowadays. There are many other "hikmah" and reasons for the injunction of polygamy in Islam. Polygamy still can be practiced, with or without the wars, with certain conditions and rules to be followed. Most importantly, polygamy shouldn't be a priority or the main choice for men. It is permissible, but, not advisable or encouraged in normal circumstances. Having said that, Muslim women should neither deny this injunction of God nor oppose it. We should accept it open heartedly, and believe in the hikmah.
