Family Day Out..

Without prior planning, hubby brought us to the Islamic Art Museum in KL besides the Masjid Negara last Saturday. After the morning walk at the neighbouring park that morning, we quickly started hovering around the house, did some weekly cleaning up and down, cos' I've declared Saturdays as our "home cleaning day" since last year. Around 12 pm, (I was off from my "chef" duty that day, yippie!!) we went to the post office besides the LCCT Sepang to claim my parcel, something that I bought from US a fortnight ago. After doing the clearance with the customs, we straight away headed to KL. As we reached the museum, it was about 2.30 pm, and only then we realised that we were soooo starving! We only had a nasi lemak each for breakfast earlier on at the park. So, we decided to find a cafe or restaurant at the museum to have our late lunch before exploring the museum and exhibitions.

We were stunned by the great, unique architechtural design of the museum the moment we stepped our feet there. It was a marvelous place! I really enjoyed the marbles, the inner doom and even the fountain. Pendek kata..everything lah! However, we couldn't spend much time to enjoy every inche of the beauty of the place....cos I insisted hubby to quickly bring us to the restaurant. Not quite to my expectation, the Arabic (Middle East) restaurant was sooo.....CANTIK MENARIK TERTARIK!!! (heheh..where did I get this phrase from??) And the best part is...there was no other customer there except us! Wasn't that great? So...just imagine... having a scrumptious, mouth watering exotic Middle Eastern dish in a very cosy, unique restaurant and tranquil ambiance...it was really a splendid lunch hour! We made ourselves just like at home, and berbaloilah sungguh the RM43++ per pax lunch! (Kopaklah duit...nasiblah hamba Allah tu murah hati belanja..thanks Papa!)

The menu?? Really delicious...up to my taste. The hammuz mcm real kat Arab, the salatah (salad) also nice.. We had a dajaj mashwi, samak and lahm. But what I like most was the appetizer. It has been ages since i last tasted all the Arab salads and pickles. While we were having our main course, a couple of tourist with a small girl came in. Luckily, they only had a cup of coffee, so we still conquer the place after they went.

Fichita was in the stroller while we savour each moment of the lunch hour. Kesian...but still, every now and then, Afafita diligently pushed her around the place to keep her happy and entertain her. We finished our meal and photo taking session in the restaurant by around 4 pm. On the way to the exhibition hall, we couldn't help ourselves from entering the bookshop, which is just beside the restaurant. apa lagi..kalau dah masuk bookshop, tak payah ceritalah. The temptation to buy books was irresistable. There were a lot of children books from Islamic Foundation and Goodword Books, which were indeed the kids' alll time fave. So, like tikus jatuh ke padi.. (betul ker peribahasa nie? lupalah) my kids were in their own haven. They choose books to buy..sesuka jer.

Rupanya, tanpa disedari, we spent around RM400 ++ on books only! (dah boleh beli handbag guess or coach!!) My God...no wonder tak kaya2 and tak berharta....we couldn't resist the temptation to buy books everytime we enter a bookshop. By the way, tak masuk pun exhibition at the museum. We finished our books shopping around 5.15 pm but the museum was only opened untill 6 pm. So, it's no use to pay for the tickets (which is more than Rm10 per pax) for about half an hour tour. Tak berbaloi langsung!

The kids (excluding Fichita, whom seemed to be not aware and understand of what was happening that day) felt quite dissappointed as they couldn't enter the exhibition hall. Nevertheless, they were quite happy with the books they bought and spent the whole night reading them.
